Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Debut Websites service provided by C i Marketing. By purchasing Debut you agree to the terms below.

The service

Debut is a done-for-you starter website service.

The service includes design and build of a website to an agreed specification, domain registration for year one (if needed), hosting, SSL certificate, global content delivery, SEO and answer engine optimisation setup, schema markup, a content editor, stock photography sourcing where required, one round of revisions before go-live, and domain renewal from year two onward while you are on a plan and we manage your domain. On the annual plan, the service also includes two website improvement check-ins each year, at six and twelve months. See Website improvements below.

Payment

• A one-off setup fee is charged at the time of purchase and is non-refundable once your brief has been received and work has commenced.
• Your ongoing plan (month-to-month or annual) begins on your go-live date and covers hosting, SSL certificate, global content delivery, your content editor, ongoing technical maintenance, routine SEO, answer engine and generative engine optimisation maintenance, and a monthly performance summary.
• The annual plan additionally includes two website improvement check-ins each year, at six and twelve months, with three improvements chosen at each (six in total). See Website improvements below.
• Additional pages beyond your base plan are charged at the add-on rate applicable at the time of purchase.
• Debut prices are quoted exclusive of GST. GST at the current New Zealand rate is added, and the GST-inclusive amount is shown alongside each price. The GST-inclusive total is confirmed at checkout before you pay.
• We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes do not affect your existing plan rate until renewal.

Plans and commitment

Debut is offered on two plans, and you choose yours at go-live: a month-to-month plan and an annual plan.

The month-to-month plan has no fixed term and no lock-in. You can cancel at any time (see Cancellation below).

The annual plan is paid in advance for twelve months from your go-live date. It renews annually unless you tell us otherwise, and once your twelve months are complete you may switch to the month-to-month plan.

Each year we will contact you for a check-in to review how your site is performing, discuss what has changed in your business, and decide whether you want to continue on your current plan, expand your site, or move to a different C i Marketing service. There is no obligation to change anything.

Your brief and content

• You are responsible for providing all written content, photos, brand assets, and other materials required to build your website.
• We will shape, structure, and proofread your content but we are not responsible for factual accuracy, completeness, or legality of content you supply.
• If you do not provide photos we will source matching stock photography on your behalf at no additional cost.
• Stock photography is licensed for use on your website only and may not be used for other purposes without a separate licence.
• Your website build begins when we receive your completed brief. The five working day build timeframe runs from the date we receive a complete brief, not from the date of payment.

Logo and branding

Logo design is not included in the Debut service.

If you do not have a logo, we will create a clean typographic version of your business name using your chosen font.

This typographic treatment is created for use on your website only. The font file, source file, or any editable version of the typographic treatment is not provided as a deliverable and remains the property of C i Marketing.

This is not a substitute for professional logo design.

Full logo and brand identity development is available as a separate C i Marketing service.

Revisions and go-live

• One round of revisions is included in your setup fee. A round of revisions means one consolidated list of changes submitted after you review your preview site.
• Additional revision rounds are available at our standard hourly rate.
• Your preview site will be ready within five working days of receiving your complete brief.
• If you do not respond to your preview within 14 days, we reserve the right to proceed with go-live or place your project on hold.

Website improvements (annual plan)

• The annual plan includes two website improvement check-ins each year, at six and twelve months. At each check-in you choose three improvements from our improvements list, six in total across the year.
• Improvements are structural or technical changes, such as a new section, a layout change, new functionality, or a design or font refresh.
• Improvements do not include routine text or image updates. You can make those yourself at any time through your content editor at no charge.
• New pages are not an improvement; they are charged as add-on pages.
• Month-to-month clients do not have scheduled improvement check-ins. Structural or technical changes are available at our standard hourly rate.

Domain

• Your chosen domain is registered in your name as part of your setup fee for year one.
• From year two onward, domain renewal is included in your monthly or annual plan. We manage renewal on your behalf so your domain never lapses.
• If you already have a domain, we will connect it to your Debut website. We will provide step-by-step instructions specific to your registrar. You are responsible for making the required DNS changes and for managing your own domain renewal. Domain renewal is not included in your monthly or annual plan if you provide your own domain.
• On cancellation your domain remains yours. If we registered your domain, we will provide your registrar login details and stop managing renewal and payments from the date your plan ends. If you provided your own domain, no action is required on our part.

Hosting and technical

• Your website is hosted on a fast, secure global network. Hosting, SSL certificate, and global content delivery are included in your monthly or annual plan.
• Video content must be hosted on YouTube or Vimeo and embedded on your site. Self-hosted video is not supported.
• Your content editor login allows text and image updates to existing content only. New pages and structural changes must be requested as a paid update.

Non-payment and suspension

• If a plan payment fails, our payment provider will automatically retry your card over the following days, and we will email you to let you know and ask you to update your payment details.
• Our payment reminder emails include a secure link where you can update your card and pay any outstanding amount straight away. You can also manage your payment details at any time through the customer portal.
• If payment is not received within 14 days of the first failed payment, your website will be suspended and will not be visible to the public.
• To reinstate a suspended website, all outstanding amounts must be paid in full along with a reinstatement fee of $85 + GST ($97.75 incl. GST).
• If a website remains suspended for 60 days without payment or contact, we reserve the right to terminate the service. Your domain remains yours regardless.

Cancellation

• You can cancel the month-to-month plan at any time through the Stripe customer portal or by emailing connect@cimarketing.co.nz. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• The annual plan is paid in advance for the year and is non-refundable. At the end of your twelve months you can choose not to renew, or switch to the month-to-month plan.
• The setup fee is non-refundable, and plan fees already paid are non-refundable.
• On cancellation we will provide your domain registrar login details and assist with pointing your domain to a new host.

Right to refuse service

C i Marketing reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or terminate the Debut service at any time if the website content is found to be illegal, obscene, pornographic, defamatory, or otherwise in breach of New Zealand law or our standards of practice.

In such cases the setup fee will not be refunded and the monthly plan will be cancelled immediately without notice.

Intellectual property

On receipt of full payment, you own the written content on your website. C i Marketing retains the right to display your website in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing.

Custom code, design systems, and build frameworks developed by C i Marketing remain our intellectual property. Your website is licensed to you for use, not sold.

Liability

Our liability to you is limited to the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding any claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from the use or unavailability of your website, or for changes to third-party platforms used to deliver the service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes with at least 30 days notice. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and shall be construed in all respects as a New Zealand contract.
